Sometimes, if a plugin upgrade fails, wordress might be stuck in the maintenance mode blocking access to both frontend and backend. leaving you with a message like this.
„Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.“
If this is the case, simply remove the „.maintenance“ file which is created in the root folder of your wordpress installaiton.
